A new, natural gas-fueled electric generating plant is being planned by Wolverine Power Cooperative, of Cadillac. Called the Alpine Power Plant, its location will be in Elmira Township, Otsego County, west of Gaylord. Cherryland Electric Co-op (CEC) is returning a record-setting $4.2 million in capital credits to it members, effective on their October 2014 billings.
