As part of its Good Neighbor Watch program, MECA is offering a new Co-op Community Service Award that recognizes outstanding co-op employees for their volunteer service and commitment to the principle of “Concern for Community.” Much of the co-ops’ long history in providing outstanding community leadership is accomplished through employee efforts.
The award is offered in addition to MECA’s original Good Neighbor Watch Award that recognizes co-op employees who were involved with an emergency situation and provided assistance to people in the community during their workday.
Award winners will receive $100 and be honored during MECA’s annual meeting April 9-11 in Grand Rapids. Nominations for either award may be made by any Michigan electric co-op employee, and guidelines and applications are now available online.
Good Neighbor Watch and Co-op Community Service award nominations are due March 15.
