Patty Clark, a community development specialist in Midwest Energy’s Adrian office, is the first recipient of a new award called the “Good Neighbor Watch Co-op Community Service Award.” Presented by the Michigan Electric Cooperative Association (MECA) during its annual meeting April 9-11, Clark received the award for her outstanding volunteer work.
Electric co-ops have a long history of demonstrating the co-op principle of “Concern for Community” by providing outstanding leadership in the communities they serve. “Much of this leadership is accomplished through the efforts of co-op employees,” says Casey Clark, MECA’s communications and marketing director. The award honors these efforts to improve the quality of life in their communities and solidify the relationship between the co-op, its members, and the community.
Long before joining Midwest, Patty was actively involved as a volunteer and leader in Lenawee County. She is a member of and has held several leadership roles in the Adrian Rotary Club and Foundation, and actively contributes time and energy to their many outreach efforts. She also serves in volunteer leadership roles with the Athena of Lenawee Council and Devils Lake Yacht Club.
“In her six years as a member of our Community Relations team, Patty has very effectively integrated her personal community affiliations with Midwest Energy’s goals to become known as a concerned corporate citizen,” says CEO Bob Hance. “She exemplifies our passion and community values and is very deserving of this recognition.”
