Have you downloaded the MECA mobile app? If not, you should check it out. So far more than 120 people have downloaded the app and it is getting positive feedback.
“The member co-ops asked us to provide an electronic alternative to the annual paper directory,” says Doug Snitgen, MECA assistant general manager. “Transitioning to a mobile app ensures content is always up-to-date and allows users to make phone calls or send email to any contact right from their mobile device.”
While traditional paper directories are quickly outdated due to director elections and staff changes, the mobile platform allows each co-op to manage their own employee and director information in real time. The new app features a searchable database of co-op directors, managers and employees, an associate member listing, and a co-op news feature. An events calendar is also being developed.
“Partnering with the Tennessee statewide association allowed MECA to quickly and cost-effectively launch this tried-and-true platform already being used by co-ops in two other states,” says Snitgen.
