More than 600 people attended Alger Delta’s Annual Meeting. The meeting featured a picnic-style cookout, games and activities for the whole family and many prize drawings. “The fun atmosphere helps draw the members in,” said Tom Harrell, Alger Delta’s CEO. Harrell praised the Alger Delta board and staff for their efforts in putting the whole event together.
Alger Delta members discussed the cooperatives’ decision to participate in Michigan’s Low Income Energy Assistance Fund (LIEAF). Following the discussion, members overwhelmingly supported the board’s decision to participate in the program.
Immediately following the Annual Meeting, the board met to elect new leadership. The board elected Dave Anthony as President. Anthony represents District 5 (Gourley / Cornell / LaBranche), and is a former State Representative from the 108th district, a business owner and employed by the Hannahville Potawatomi Indian Community.
The board also elected Paul Sederquist to the position of Vice President and Nancy Gardner-Platt as Secretary/Treasurer. Sederquist is a retired farmer and has served on the Alger Delta board for 27 years. Gardner-Platt is a retiree with seven years’ experience on the board.
