Great Lakes Energy (GLE) Cooperative employees, along with the help of CoBank, a cooperative lender, recently contributed $21,119 to local United Way agencies throughout the GLE service area. GLE employees participate annually in a United Way campaign by pledging money from their paychecks throughout the year. HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s People Fund program is getting a new fundraising boost from a partnership with Amazon.com. While shopping online, HomeWorks members, or anyone interested in contributing, can now help benefit area families and organizations by using a special link to reach their Amazon.com account. By doing so, .5 percent of a contributor’s purchase will be donated by Amazon to the co-op’s People Fund.

Wolverine Power Cooperative has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with RES America Developments Inc. (a subsidiary of Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc.), for 114 megawatts (MW) of wind energy and related renewable energy credits in the Thumb area.
