A new, natural gas-fueled electric generating plant is being planned by Wolverine Power Cooperative, of Cadillac. Called the Alpine Power Plant, its location will be in Elmira Township, Otsego County, west of Gaylord. America’s electric co-ops have marked a new milestone in their grassroots strength as we reach 1 million comments sent to the EPA in opposition to its proposed rule targeting existing power plants.
