Ontonagon County REA has just launched Smarthub® – an online service that offers electric co-op members a faster, more efficient way to pay their bills and manage account information from either a computer or mobile device, including smartphones and tablets.
With SmartHub, co-op members can also report an outage or service related matter, set recurring payments, activate paperless billing, check daily/monthly kilowatt-hour use, update account information, set markers to track the impact of home improvement upgrades on electric use, and receive texts or emails when energy use falls below or exceeds a pre-set alert level.
The SmartHub app is free (available for both Apple/IOS and Android mobile devices) to download and install, and is powered by the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), which developed and services the program.
Other Michigan electric co-ops that use SmartHub to provide this service are Cherryland, Cloverland, Midwest and HomeWorks.
